Il Coro Minimo Bellunese, nato nel 1961 grazie al Maestro Lamberto Pietropoli e guidato successivamente per 33 anni dal Maestro Edoardo Gazzera, si è esibito nella sua lunga storia in molte città italiane: Roma (splendide le esibizioni nella chiesa di S. Spirito dei Napoletani nella Piazza di S. Ignazio), Firenze (in particolare nel Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio), Milano, Venezia, Torino, Latina, Sassari, San Cesario sul Panaro, Castrocaro e nei più importanti e prestigiosi concorsi nazionali (Lecco, Ivrea, Adria) dove ha sempre riscosso lusinghieri successi ed apprezzamenti.
Ha, altresì, al suo attivo una quarantina di tournées nei Paesi d’oltralpe tra i quali Austria, Germania (dove maggiormente si è esibito), Belgio, Lussemburgo, Francia, Repubblica Ceca, Svizzera, Brasile e Argentina.
Nel corso della sua attività il Coro Minimo ha voluto portare a tutti i bellunesi che vivono all’estero tangibili segni e manifestazioni concrete della cultura della nostra provincia; ciò è stato possibile ponendosi come scopo quello di tener vivo, con le proprie canzoni, in chi da tanti anni manca dai propri paesi natii, il ricordo dei luoghi, delle tradizioni, delle genti delle nostre terre.
Nel 1973 il Comune di Belluno ha conferito al Coro Minimo Bellunese il Premio San Martino “Per le benemerenze acquisite nel far conoscere in Patria e all’Estero la città di Belluno e le tradizioni culturali della gente bellunese”.
Nel 2003 il Coro Minimo ha avuto l’onore di esibirsi alla presenza del Capo dello Stato, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, in occasione del 40° anniversario della tragedia del Vajont.
Nel 2006 il Coro ha festeggiato i 45 anni dalla sua fondazione ed ha partecipato, unica formazione italiana, al secondo Festival Internazionale di Canto Popolare “Baden”, esibendosi a Rastatt, Rust, Bruchsal e, di fronte a 4000 spettatori, nell’open air theather di Ötigheim, il più grande della Germania.
Nel 2008 il Coro, attualmente guidato da Gianluca NIcolai, ha avuto l’onore di esibirsi presso la Camera dei Deputati per il tradizionale Concerto di Natale.
Nel 2011 il Coro, nell’ambito delle iniziative indette dal Ministero per i Beni Culturali per i 150 anni dell’Unità d’Italia, è stato insignito dal Comune di Belluno della qualifica di “Gruppo di Interesse Comunale”.
Dal 2020 il Coro è stato riconosciuto come Associazione di Promozione Sociale.
Il Coro, sotto la guida del Direttore Gianluca Nicolai, ha festeggiato nel 2021 il sessantesimo anno di attività.
The Coro Minimo Bellunese, was founded in 1961 and during his long life we performed in several Italian towns: we sang in Roma (the concerts in the church of “S. Spirito dei Napoletani” and in “Piazza di S. Ignazio” were brilliant), in Firenze, in Milano, in Venezia, in Torino, in Latina, in Sassari and and we attended the most important and prestigious national competitions (Lecco, Ivrea, Adria), always obtaining good results and favourable appraisals.
Besides, we toured roundabout forty times through different European countries, such as Austria, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Switzerland, Brasil, Argentina and, above all, Germany.
During his activity, the Coro Minimo Bellunese has always been trying to convey to the fellow-citizens that live abroad tangible manifestations of their homeland-culture. That was done by the chorus by giving itself an aim: to keep, with the local songs and the folk music, the culture, the story, and the taste of our land alive and to remind the Italians who live abroad of their origins.
In 1973 the Municipality of Belluno conferred upon the Coro Minimo Bellunese the “Premio San Martino”, i.e. an honour “For the good results in making the town of Belluno, its traditions and cultural background known in Italy and through foreign Countries”.
In 2003, the Coro Minimo Bellunese had the unique chance to perform at the presence of Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, who was at that time President of the Italian Republic, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the tragedy of Vajont.
Then in 2006, the chorus celebrated the 45th anniversary of its foundation and in the same year it has been representative of Italy, while participating at the “Second International Festival of folk Music Baden”. Within the framework of that event, the Coro Minimo Bellunese sang in the cities of Rastatt, Rust, Bruchsal and gave a concert in front of a 4000-people audience in the “Ötingheim open air theater”, which is the biggest in Germany.
In 2008 the Choir, actually directed by Gianluca Nicolai, took part in the Christmas-celebration concert in “Aula di Montecitorio della Camera dei Deputati”, i.e. in the Italian Parliament.
In 2011 the Choir, part of the initiatives organized by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage for the Unification of Italy 150 years, was honored by the City of Belluno the title of "Municipal Interest Group."".
